Best Restaurants in Cape Town

One of my favourites trips so far has been without a doubt Cape Town. I loved the nature there, the people, the sun and most importantly the food! We ate amazingly everyday and we drank even better wine. If you don’t know where to eat while visiting Cape Town, let me give you a list of my favourite places:

  • “Codfather Seafood” - This restaurant is located in Camps Bay, one of the most exclusive areas outside of Cape Town overlooking a great beach. Before going for dinner I would recommend you have a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset. Then head for dinner to this incredible seafood restaurant. Codfather works like a shop, there is a counter where you can see all the seafood and select the exact pieces that you are going to have later. The seafood was excellent!

  • “Harbour House” – This restaurant is located at Kalk Bay, a small fishing harbour with great restaurants. Harbour House is a great place for seafood and offers a great tasting menu paired with SA wines. The restaurant is on a deck overlooking the fishing boats, the ocean and the mountains.

  • “Champhan’s Peak Hotel” – this is the perfect spot to stop on your way to Boulders Beach, Simon´s Town and Cape Point. The hotel/ restaurant is situated at the foot of the world-famous Chapmans Peak Drive in the picturesque village of Hout Bay. The food is really good and you have to try their incredible and famous fried calamari.

  • “La Petite Ferme”- Situated in Franschhoek, this little farm’s restaurant uses produce from the area and offers a seasonal menu with a contemporary touch paired with a glass of wine from their estate.

  • "The Hussar Grill Mouille Point" – located in the Green Point area this is the place to enjoy a perfectly aged succulent steak. The food here is really tasty, the steak was amazing as well as the desserts and the wine.

  • "Villa 47" – located in Cape Town city centre, this restaurant offers Italian and Mediterranean cuisine showcasing authentic ingredients housed in an iconic heritage building.

  • “Baia restaurant” - at the Waterfront. This is a very touristic area and not commonly visited by locals. There are many restaurants here and it can be a bit overwhelming to choose one. However, Baia is a great option, they have a very nice selection of fish and seafood platters all cooked with a Portuguese influence which makes them different and delicious at the same time.
