Best Restaurants in India - Golden Triangle

India (as I’m sure you know) it is a very big country and therefore the food that you will be eating in different regions will vary. It is quite common in the south for example to eat fish but more normal in the north to have vegetarian dishes or chicken options. Of course it goes without saying that beef and pork are 2 meats that you will not eat during this trip.

As choosing where to eat in India can be challenging, I am going to recommend to you my favourite places across the golden triangle. We tried them all during our trip and had wonderful experiences!

Agra

"The Salt Café" – the restaurant is quite big and has 2 floors, one with a terrace and another one inside. We initially booked on the terrace but it was quite noisy as it is very close to a busy road and so we asked to dine inside. The service was absolutely excellent and we had the best chicken tandoori of the trip! It was a great experience.

Jaipur

“Bar Palladio” – against all our beliefs we went for dinner to Bar Palladio, which is part of a hotel. However I must say that it was stunning, the decoration was incredible (everything is full of small blue tiles) and it has a fantastic terrace. The restaurant is Italian so we had some vegetarian pasta that was very nice. Even if you don’t go to the restaurant I recommend to go to the terrace for a drink after dinner.

“Chokhi Dhani” – the idea here is to have dinner and roam around the village where you will find camels, elephants, fortune tellers etc. The food is proper Rajasthani so definitely worth trying it while in Jaipur. Make sure you book in advance.

Delhi

"Lazzez Affaire" - a very elegant restaurant with very nice Indian food in the diplomatic area of Delhi. My recommendation here is to order the Lazzez kebab (it is not actually a Turkish kebab). I am not sure how to describe the dish but it was incredible!

“Gulati restaurant” - the most authentic restaurant from the trip, we were the only foreigners there as it was full of local people! This was in a square (Pandara Road Market) with few restaurants, where they all looked nice to be fair. The only problem was that they don’t sell alcohol! It has very nice food and big portions! Everything that we ordered was fantastic.
