Best time to go: Zurich during the summer is great and you can enjoy sunny days and a perfect temperature without getting too hot! The lakes and the nature are incredibly beautiful at this time of year.
The suggested hotel is "Boutique Hotel Wellenberg” in a very centric location. As accommodation in Zurich can be quite expensive, another option is to rent an apartment, "Nest Temporary AG - Studio Apartments at Seefeld area” is a good and cheaper alternative.
Day 1: Arrival
After arriving a good place to go for dinner is “Jules Verne Panoramabar”, where you can enjoy a Swiss meal while having great cocktails and amazing views over the old town.
Day 2: Zurich City Centre
On the next day you can start by visiting the most touristic parts of Zurich. You can walk the full itinerary and I will indicate how long it takes you to walk from point to point:
Fraumünster church - located on the west bank of the Limmat, the Fraumünster Church with its green steeple is one of Zurich's most prominent landmarks. Particularly renowned are the glass windows by Marc Chagall and Augusto Giacometti.
Grossmünster church and the Münsterbrücke - according to legend, Charlemagne discovered the graves of the city’s patron saints Felix and Regula and had a church built as a monastery on the spot. (2 min)
Walk alongside the river Limmat banks to get to the next stop Operahaus.
Operahaus - home of the Zürich Opera since 1891, and also houses the Bernhard-Theater Zürich and Zürich Ballet. (10 min)
A good place to stop for lunch is “Bohemia Bar&Grill”.
China Garden - if the weather is nice, you can keep walking towards these beautiful Chinese inspired gardens. (17 min)
Bahnhofstrasse - one of the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping avenues. (15 min from Operahaus and 30 min from China Garden)
Lindenhof Hill - from where you can have fantastic views over the city. It is the site of the Roman and Carolingian era imperial palace around which the city has historically grown. (5 min)
Altstadt - end your day exploring the Old town with cobbled streets full of cozy bars, traditional Swiss restaurants, and art museums like the Kunsthaus. (5 min)
For dinner, the suggested restaurant is "Swiss Chuchi”, make sure you order the typical raclette or fondue as it is just amazing!
Day 3: Uetliberg
For your second full day in Zurich I recommend you to do a super cool plan! Go to the top of Uetliberg to enjoy a great fondue for lunch at "Uto-Staffe"! This is a must!
You can walk up the hill if you are fit enough, it takes around one and a half hours and there are some quite steep points. Another option is to take the train from Zurich HB up and make your way down walking as this is much easier.
The Uetliberg is a mountain in the Swiss plateau, part of the Albis chain, rising up to 870 m. The mountain offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Zürich and the Lake of Zurich and lies on the boundary between the city of Zürich and the municipalities of Stallikon and Uitikon.
If you still have the energy to keep eating… another must do in Zurich is to try their wonderful Swiss chocolate… try a mug of hot chocolate at “ prungli" on Paradeplatz.
However, if you are visiting Zurich in the summer you might want to go to the lake an just relax instead!
